Spinal cord cancer represents a barely 2-3% of cancers of the central nervous system, and mainly affects children and young people. Cancers of the central nervous system are very lethal when they exceed grade II, according to the criteria of the World Health Organization WHO. Despite recent advances with proton treatments, immunology, etc., these cancers respond very poorly to therapeutic treatments as they are highly resistant to radiation and chemotherapy.
